Troubleshooting

Find help with location data, saved records, and display differences.

Location or routes are not recorded

  1. Check that Main shows an active recording and that elapsed time is advancing.
  2. Check WayLog's location permission in iPhone Settings, including Location Services and Precise Location.
  3. Avoid difficult GPS conditions such as indoors or underground. Try a short recording with a clear view of the sky.
  4. If your accuracy threshold or intervals are set strictly, try the Normal Resolution preset again.

The Settings path varies with iOS. Check Privacy & Security → Location Services → WayLog, or the app's individual settings.

If recording stops when the screen is closed, check location permission and the app's state, then test a short record in your usual environment.

Missing records and saving questions

I cannot find a Save button.

A normal recording is saved when you stop and confirm with OK. Editing a title or note has its own Save button.

My record is not in Record List.

Clear search conditions. Empty records with no location points and travel before recording begins are not saved. For Watch records, check the transfer to iPhone, too.

It looks as though Close to next removed my record.

Main has returned to the ready state for another recording. Open Record List to see the saved record.

Distance, steps, or appearance differs

The route or distance is inaccurate.

Buildings, GPS reception, and accuracy and interval settings affect location data. Higher accuracy settings do not guarantee a precise route.

No steps are shown.

Check Motion & Fitness permission. A value may not appear when step data is unavailable.

My layout differs from these screenshots.

This manual uses the provided version 6.0 source build. OS and app versions, screen size, and light or dark appearance can change the layout. Use tab names and button shapes as guides.

If you still need help

For help, use WayLog's Config → Inquiry / Request / Bug Report and include app and OS versions, actions taken, and the circumstances of the issue.

Before sending screenshots, check for addresses or personal information. Avoid deleting the app before contacting support so your records remain available for investigation.
